Exclusions
This warranty covers only manufacturing defects in Vytec Products manufactured by Vytec. All other causes of material failure, including but not limited to failure or damages resulting from: fire, flood, lightning, wind storm, hurricane, tornado, earthquake, or any other acts of God; normal and expected weathering of the surface; discoloration due to air pollution, exposure to harmful chemicals, fumes or vapors; accidental or intentional damage, neglect, improper care, or other failure by the owner to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance of the product; settlement of the building, failure of the structure (including foundations and walls) failure or damages resulting from painting or applying any other surface coating to the product; failure or damages resulting from faulty or improper installation, or the use of accessories that do not properly receive or secure Vytec Products; vinyl siding products which have been distorted or melted due to an external heat source (including, but not limited to a barbecue grill, fire, or reflection from windows, doors, or other objects), any other cause not involving inherent manufacturing defects in Vytec Products; or other causes beyond the control of Vytec, are excluded from this warranty. Normal weathering is defined as exposure to sunlight and extremes of weather and atmosphere which will cause any colored surface to gradually fade, chalk or suffer an accumulation of surface dirt or stains. The severity of any of these conditions depends upon the geographical location of the property, the cleanliness of the air in your area and many other local influences over which Vytec has no control. This warranty is valid only if Vytec Products were applied strictly in accordance with Vyetc's installation manual, and if the property owner keeps the product reasonably free of dirt and pollutants.
Uniform Weathering
Vytec warrants its vinyl siding products against excess fade beyond normal weathering. Excess fade is defined by achange in color, as calculated according to ASTM D2244, greater than four (4) Hunter units on TruColor® products Prestige®, Eminence®, Eminence 20', Expressions, Yukon Board, Board & Batten and D5 Vertical/Soffit Premium .044, and greater than seven (7) Hunter units for all other Vytec vinyl siding products. The term "uniform weathering" means the appearance of the color of the siding and does not refer to the straightness or the even or level wall appearance of the siding. Exposure to exterior elements can be expected to cause gradual and uniform color change. This can vary, dependent on geographical location and wall exposure. Vytec Corporation warrants that the Vytec Products will weather in a uniform manner. The term of this coverage will commence on the date of the original installation and continue in effect under the terms of the original buyer's warranty or the transfer program, if applicable.
Hail Damage
Vytec Products manufactured by Vytec are extremely durable and will resist impact damage. Vytec warrants that in the event Vytec vinyl siding is damaged in a severe hail storm and such damage is not covered by the homeowner's insurance policy or other insurance coverage (property owner must pursue replacement or repair from said insurance prior to contacting Vytec), Vytec will provide replacement material for the portion which was damaged. The owner shall be responsible for the payment of all installation, labor and freight costs and for the purchase of any additional Vytec Products desired by the owner to replace undamaged products.
